Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This policy explains what data we collect on infraz.io and docs.infraz.io, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We wrote it in plain language so you do not need a law degree to understand it.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is InfraZ. For privacy requests (access, deletion, questions), email us at [email protected].

What this policy covers

It applies to the InfraZ marketing site at infraz.io and the documentation site at docs.infraz.io. We do not run user accounts, contact forms, or server-side tracking on the docs site. The limited third-party services we use are listed below.

What we collect and who processes it

1. Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our sites — for example which pages are read and how people find us.

What it collects: page views, session data, approximate location (country or city from your IP address), browser and device information, and the site that referred you.

When it runs: only after you click Accept on the cookie consent banner on infraz.io or docs.infraz.io. Until then, analytics scripts are not loaded.

Cookies set after consent: _ga (expires in 2 years), _gid (24 hours), and _ga_* (2 years).

Google acts as a data processor under a data processing agreement. See Google's privacy policy.

2. Algolia DocSearch and Insights

Search on docs.infraz.io is powered by Algolia DocSearch. With optional Insights enabled when you consent, Algolia can record which search results you click and what you searched for — this helps us improve documentation.

If you accept cookies:Algolia may store a pseudonymous user token in your browser's localStorage under _algoliasearchInsights, and send interaction events (clicks, queries).

If you decline: search still works normally. No interaction events are sent and no user token is stored.

Algolia is a data processor. See Algolia's privacy policy.

3. Sentry error monitoring

We use Sentry to find and fix errors on infraz.io. Sentry may receive error details such as the page URL, browser and device information, timestamps, stack traces, and related request metadata. We do not use Sentry Session Replay.

Sentry acts as a data processor. See Sentry's privacy policy.

4. Your cookie consent choice

We store your banner decision in localStorage under the key cookie-consent, with value granted or denied. This is essential so we do not ask you again on every visit. It is saved regardless of whether you accept or decline, and it stays until you clear your browser storage.

Why we are allowed to process this data

  • Analytics and search insights: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
  • Error monitoring: our legitimate interest in keeping the site reliable and secure (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Storing your consent choice: our legitimate interest in remembering your preference so the banner does not keep reappearing (necessary for that purpose).

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with similar privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate data;
  • ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • restrict how we process your data;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew).

To withdraw consent for analytics and Algolia Insights, use the button below to reopen the consent banner, clear cookies and localStorage for our sites in your browser settings, or email [email protected].

How long we keep data

  • Google Analytics: up to 2 years (configurable in our Google Analytics settings).
  • Algolia Insights token: for your browser session or until you clear localStorage.
  • Sentry error data: kept only as long as needed to diagnose and resolve site errors, according to our Sentry retention settings.
  • Consent preference: until you clear browser storage.

International transfers

Google, Algolia, and Sentry may process data outside the EU/EEA. They use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

What we do not collect

The docs site has no user accounts, no contact forms, and no server-side collection of personal data from visitors. We do not sell your personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
